The Great Restart of 2020

“Your computer was restarted because of a problem.”

All of us have seen this message from our computers, generally when something seems to really not be working.

When we restart a computer it clears out the RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM is the primary type of memory that our computers use to handle short term data and tasks. When you restart your computer, you get rid of all the unimportant, temporary and random data which is slowing down your device. It’s all of the stuff you needed temporarily but don’t need long term.

Usually when you restart your computer it works much better than before.

The horrific coronavirus has already caused unbelievable human suffering. It has thrown the global financial markets in to turmoil, and we have only begun to understand the pain it will cause, especially to the elderly and the poor.

Every day brings more bad news, and elected officials, business leaders, the media and health professionals have struggled from the beginning to provide accurate information about how to slow it, how long it will consume us, and how bad the damage will be.

We are locked in our homes watching an endless spiral of bad news.

Modern society has shut down and almost nothing is clear.

Except the air in Beijing where people are seeing blue skies for the first time in recent memory, with nitrous oxide levels nationwide down 42%.
